Monroe Township Seniors Welcome Lecture by Dr Alan Nasar, Joint Replacement Surgeon at the Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute in Freehold, NJ
“Painful Conditions of the Hip” was the very topical subject of the welcomed and well-attended lecture to senior citizens of Monroe Township, Middlesex County, NJ, on Thursday, November 15. The lecture was presented by Dr. Alan Nasar, a fellowship-trained joint replacement orthopedic surgeon at the Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute in Freehold, New Jersey, and given at the Monroe Township Senior Center.
Around 45 percent of Monroe Township’s population is comprised of senior citizens, active in their promotion of the need for a wide range of support services, particularly of programs about the more serious aspects of aging.
Dr. Nasar’s lecture covered the common causes of hip pain, including bursitis, arthritis and injury. All treatment options were discussed, video testimonials were presented and hip models were on display for those present in the lecture hall to see and touch. “A full hall and active participation in the discussions kept me totally engaged in their immediate concerns to avoid loss of independence as long as possible.” said Dr. Nasar, following the extended question and answer session of more than an hour.
