Sugar Land, TX, November 21, 2007 --(PR.com)-- On December 8th and 9th, Sugar Land Ice & Sports Center will be transformed into a magical land of sugar plums, candy canes, and fairies as local ice skaters of all ages take to the ice for Sugar Land Ice’s 11th annual production of The Nutcracker On Ice. This unique performance offers patrons the chance to enjoy professional quality skating right at home. The 2007 Nutcracker cast boasts more than 100 skaters, most who train at Sugar Land Ice. According to Paul Kennell, General Manger of Sugar Land Ice, “The show provides the opportunity for local youth to showcase their skills while learning poise and grace in front of a live audience.”

Show directors Val and Elena Prudsky promise this year’s show will have plenty of surprises including special appearances by popular Disney characters and world class performances by special featured skaters. Special guest skaters are kept a closely guarded secret. Last year’s show featured Rohene Ward, 2007 and 2008 Upper Great Lakes Regional Champion. The Prudskys are a well known coaching team and former principal pair for Russian Ballet on Ice. They were part of the choreographic team for the opening and closing ceremonies of 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City and have toured extensively with international ice shows.

A special charity performance will take place on December 7th with public performances on Saturday, December 8th at 2:00pm and 7:30pm and on Sunday, December 9th at 2:00pm.
