)-- Trojan Utilities, the smart meter installation and maintenance company, provides a process of career progression for Manchester smart meter field engineer Andrew Sidebotham.
Andrew started with the company in 2013 installing and maintaining dual fuel smart meters as part of a team responsible for installing two thousand smart meters every week.
After two years he was ready for a fresh challenge and was notified of a new position with the company as an engineer supervisor through the technical updates all engineers receive directly from head office to their smart phones.
Andrew Botham says: “Progression is just a natural part of the process here; there are always opportunities for people that want them. I thoroughly enjoy being a part of the Trojan team because we work together to accomplish goals. We’re always there for one another; it’s nice to have that support and respect. I like coming to work, how many people can say that?”
Andrew’s role as engineer supervisor has many elements, he is responsible for providing the company’s engineering team with technical and operational support, maintaining engineer productivity, and liaising with customers who require additional support to understand the smart meter exchange and fit process.
Trojan Utilities specialises in the installation and maintenance of domestic Smart Meters throughout the UK; including the installation and maintenance of traditional domestic gas and electric meters. With an infrastructure now established for national operations the company is supporting Government legislation to lower the carbon footprint of the UK by replacing the metering system currently in place with that of smart metering – to date they are currently installing 2,000 smart meters per week.
