Newest 60GHz V-Band millimeter wave radios incorporate feature sets for ease of installation, maintenance and operation for enterprise and backhaul applications.

BridgeWave Unveils BW64 60 GHz Wireless Backhaul Solutions
Santa Clara, CA, April 03, 2015 --(PR.com)-- BridgeWave Communications, the leading supplier of millimeter wave backhaul solutions, today announced the introduction of its BW64, 60 GHz, V-band millimeter wave solution. Based on the highly successful GE60 radio platform, this new solution provides updated feature sets which allow for ease of installation and operation, while maintaining the highest system gain and availability of an all-outdoor 60 GHz backhaul solution. BW64 provides high-throughput, one gigabit per second full-duplex data rates while minimizing total cost of ownership for enterprise and service providers relative to trenching or leasing fiber.

As the newest members of BridgeWave’s millimeter wave backhaul family, BW64 and BW64E operate in the license-free 60 GHz frequency band providing better interference immunity than 802.11-based unlicensed devices. Narrow antenna beam widths and optional 256-AES encryption further offer higher levels of security ideal for HIPAA or other applications where sensitive data is transported over the link. The combination of license-free operation and high interference immunity make BW64 an ideal solution for enterprise and service provider networks to securely transport data between facilities or extend fiber connections where fiber cannot reach.

To further aid in installation and operation, BW64 radios are now powered via a 48VDC source and can be optionally fitted with Power over Ethernet, simplifying the installation process with a single CAT5 cable and copper SFPs. Where fiber is required, BW64 utilizes field-pluggable SFPs to match existing runs of single-mode or multi-mode fiber to the radio. BW64 contains an integrated 10” antenna, while BW64E can be fitted to a 24” (60cm) diameter parabolic antenna which improves the availability of full Gigabit links in high rain zone regions by adding more than 10dB of link budget over integrated antenna options. The combination of Power over Ethernet, field pluggable SFPs, and BW64's intuitive visual alignment features allows BW64 links fast and easy deployment for either skilled radio installers or end-user IT and facility staffs.

“BridgeWave’s BW64 provides the highest link budget of other 60 products GHz in the market, and meets the end customer need for a full-duplex 1 Gbps solution, that can be deployed with ease,” said Dave Newman, CEO at BridgeWave Communications. “With high system gain, Power over Ethernet, field-pluggable SFPs for data interfaces and software upgrades, BW64 improves logistics with our distribution partners while maintaining the high performance and quality our end customers demand. The BW64 radios are backwards compatible with the GE60 radios, allowing seamless upgrade to the installed BridgeWave GE60 customer networks.”
