Coming Home Rescue, a 501(c)3 non-profit dog rescue organization, is looking for a foster or a permanent home for a dog who has cerebellar cortical degeneration also known as Cerebellar Ataxis. This is a genetic disease that affects a significant list of dog breeds and causes the dog to have an odd gait and trouble navigating as well as occasionally falling on his side. In some breeds there is a slow degradation of their ability to function while in others it can be quite rapid. Unfortunately, there is no treatment or cure for the illness.

Coming Home Rescue had Wally examined by a neurologist who indicated that Wally is not in pain or uncomfortable and may very well live a normal life span.

Wally is a chocolate and white five-year-old, American Staffordshire mix, that is very people focused. Wally has been through obedience training and knows to do his business outside. He prefers to be your one and only, but might do fine with another mellow dog. Due to his condition, it’s best that he is in a house with older children and adults. He loves to cuddle, play with his toys and rides well in the car. Wally is full of energy and would love a big yard to run in or go on daily walks. Wally is neutered, up-to-date on his shots and microchipped.

Anyone interested in Wally, can fill out a foster or adoption application online at www.cominghomerescue.org or call 1-888-405-7221 or email info@cominghomerescue.org to schedule a meet and greet.
