)-- AKATI Consulting was invited by SecureMetric Technology to be one of its supporting vendor in the ASEAN Financial Institution Conference (ASEANFIC), in Manila.
Krishna Rajagopal, CEO AKATI Consulting delivered his presentation on 'E-banking and Hackers'. He spoke about the risks in E-banking and shared his perception on the current efforts and future plans in providing network security via proactive security in financial institutions.
Krishna also demonstrated the ease of penetrating a network of a financial institution while shedding light in to what is really inside a mind of a hacker. Upon taking a peek into the dark side, he recommended the following precautionary measures against network and system breaches.
• Identify the right people in the team
• Perform penetration tests or vulnerability assessments and gap analysis
• Assess and improve the security policies of the institute
• Train and certify the resources
There were nearly 150 participants from more than 15 financial institutes at the ASEANFIC conference. Some of the other topics covered at the conference were, cybercrime, mobile banking, mobile money and digital signatures vs. ink signatures.
