Parker J. Palmer to Serve as Naropa University’s 2015 Commencement Speaker

Naropa University today announced that Parker J. Palmer, a world-renowned author and activist known for his work in education and social change, will serve as Naropa’s Commencement speaker. Palmer’s graduation speech, “Living From the Inside Out,” will include teachable moments from Parker’s extraordinary career. Naropa’s graduation will be held at Macky Auditorium in Boulder, Colorado, on May 10th, beginning at 1pm MST.

Boulder, CO, April 14, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Naropa University today announced that Parker J. Palmer, a world-renowned author and activist known for his work in education and social change, will serve as Naropa’s Commencement speaker. Palmer’s graduation speech, “Living From the Inside Out,” will include teachable moments from Parker’s extraordinary career. Naropa’s graduation will be held at Macky Auditorium in Boulder, Colorado, on May 10th, beginning at 1pm MST.

Recognized as the national leader in contemplative education, Naropa University will confer degrees to more than 300 graduate and undergraduate students. Naropa's 2015 graduating class will receive BA, BFA, MA, MFA, and MDiv degrees in the arts, education, environmental leadership, psychology, and religious studies, among others. Parker J. Palmer, Founder and Senior Partner of the Center for Courage & Renewal, is a world-renowned writer, speaker and activist who focuses on issues in education, community, leadership, spirituality and social change. He holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of California at Berkeley, as well as eleven honorary doctorates, two Distinguished Achievement Awards from the National Educational Press Association, and numerous other awards, including the William Rainey Harper Award (whose previous recipients include Margaret Mead and Elie Wiesel). Parker is the author of nine books, including several best-selling and award-winning titles.
