Los Angeles, CA, April 30, 2015 --(PR.com
)-- Independent production company You Did It! Productions (“YDIP”) has secured film rights to the novel NOGALES, the harrowing true-life story of Steve Wilson who, along with his friend, are wrongly imprisoned by Mexican authorities in the early 1970’s as part of President Nixon's War on Drugs.
Joining Stewart Hall, Devin Cutler, and Lee Ettinger, who are producing the film, is Gabriela Tagliavini who will serve as Executive Producer.
In NOGALES, Wilson and friend survive for years in hellish conditions while under constant physical and emotional duress, until he is scheduled to be informally executed by prison authorities. Learning this, Wilson manages to hide himself in a secret compartment built into a car and escapes with his life.
“We are very pleased to have been chosen by Steve Wilson to bring his amazing story to the silver screen,” says Stewart Hall. “Not only is his story edge-of-your-seat suspenseful, but the fact that it is true and that these horrific events really happened to him and his friend make the tale that much more intense. Add to that the startling involvement of the newly-formed DEA and the complicity of the Nixon administration, and you have the recipe for a terrific film.”
