New Loan Program Promotes Opportunity to Adopt

First-time homeowners give second chances to shelter animals.

Murray, UT, May 16, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Mountain America Credit Union has launched a new loan campaign which also seeks to promote the adoption of shelter pets for new homeowners. A portion of new loans closed through the Mountain America First-time Home Buyer Loan Program will be donated to the Humane Society of Utah (HSU) May 11- July 31, 2015. A video promoting the campaign was filmed at the HSU shelter located at 4242 South 300 West Murray, Utah, and featured Mattie, a golden retriever who was adopted from the HSU in 2006. The goal of the program is to help both people and shelter pets find new homes.

Mattie portrays a shelter dog that catches the eye of an apartment dweller. He can’t adopt her until he moves into his new home; accomplished through a first-time home buyer loan with Mountain America. For additional details on the program and to view the video visit www.macu.com/firsthome.

“We see a lot of people who either can’t keep their pet or can’t adopt one because they live in an apartment or rental that doesn’t allow pets,” said Heidi Myers, HSU corporate sponsorship manager. “We’re thrilled that Mountain America thought to involve us in this campaign, and we look forward to this partnership facilitating memorable moments for the members and animals in our care.”

The HSU will feature a sponsored “Mountain America Pet of the Week” each week during the campaign and Mountain America will bring additional exposure to adoptable animals by cross featuring them on the Mountain America social media channels.

The Humane Society of Utah is a progressive shelter working to convey a positive image of adoptable pets through creative marketing efforts. They predict they will receive over 12,000 animals in 2015 that will need a second chance to find loving homes.

Corporate partnerships with organizations like Mountain America Credit Union are credited with helping fund the lifesaving efforts the HSU provides Utah’s homeless pets.
