Baltimore, MD, May 28, 2015 --(PR.com
)-- With nearly 30 years in business, Reliance Fire Protection, Inc. of Baltimore knows what it takes to defend buildings against fire damage. A long-term relationship with Buch Construction, a local general contractor, supported Reliance’s win to provide the design, installation and testing of fire sprinkler systems for a brand-new training facility.
The training center, located in the Washington Business Park in Lanham, Md., is operated by the Plumbers & Gasfitters Local Union 5 and also hosts training for the Sprinkler Fitters Local Union 669. “We have a very good working relationship with Buch Construction and started the job in October 2014, working on and off at the site through April of this year when testing wrapped up,” said Michael Rich, project manager with Reliance Fire Protection.
The 55,000 square foot building includes more than 32,000 square feet of classrooms, a large mechanical shop and training area, in addition to administrative offices. “Because this facility is geared specifically toward training union trades, the project is all union-built. We take a sense of pride in contributing to a facility like this and we ensured the quality work was there,” Rich said.
Rich applauds the efforts of Reliance employees Andy Poland, designer, who was responsible for the design and coordination with other mechanical trades; Efrain Osorio, foreman; and apprentices Ryan Whittaker and Justin Wilhelm.
Reliance Fire Protection joined APi Group, Inc. companies in 2010. Reliance is located in Balitimore, Maryland and provides fire protection and 24 hour emergency sprinkler services in the surrounding areas. Learn more about Reliance Fire Protection at www.reliancefireprotection.com.
