New Vitae Wellness and Recovery Awarded DMVA Legislative Appropriation

Behavioral health agency receives grant to treat military veterans with PTSD.

Quakertown, PA, May 29, 2015 --(PR.com)-- New Vitae Wellness and Recovery has been awarded a $250,000 legislative appropriation from the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs to provide services to veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Services available through the grant include clinical (psychiatry, one-to-one therapy, group therapy and partial hospital), residential/housing (an array of housing options are available) and a combined residential treatment model (including clinical and residential supports). The period of performance for the grant will be July 1, 2015 to May 31, 2017.

Program objectives include decreasing PTSD symptoms, improving overall functioning and providing PTSD psychoeducational support to veterans and their families. Program outcomes include expanded outreach, screening, symptom management, coping skills education, establishing partnerships with veteran service organizations, sustainability through insurance reimbursements, promoting anti-stigma and achieving greater integration of federal, state and community healthcare services to the benefit of veterans.

There is no grant funding limitation related to character of separation. As long as the individual being treated has a Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (Form DD214) and a diagnosis of PTSD, they are considered an eligible veteran.
