Tango Networks Messaging Solution Lets Cisco Jabber Users Communicate with Anyone via Text Message

Expanding the capabilities of Cisco's Jabber collaboration tool, Tango Networks today introduced a solution that lets Jabber users communicate with anyone, in or out of the network, via text.

San Diego, CA, June 08, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Tango Networks (http://www.Tango-Networks.com), the mobility solutions company, has introduced mobile messaging for Cisco Jabber®, a solution that builds on Cisco Jabber, Cisco's collaboration tool, and allows users to send messages from Cisco Jabber through text with other users on any device, in or out of the corporate network.

Tango Networks is introducing mobile messaging for Cisco Jabber at Cisco Live, Cisco’s annual IT and communications conference. It works by converting the Cisco Jabber instant message into an SMS text that can be delivered via the wireless network. Using the familiar Cisco Jabber interface, it extends the reach of the Cisco Jabber client beyond the corporate network.

As a result, it gives them a new way to collaborate with members both inside and outside of the company.

"Users can now communicate with anyone, anywhere, by using mobile messaging for Cisco Jabber," said Andrew Silver, Chief Technology Officer of Tango Networks. "What we have done is to extend Cisco Jabber's messaging potential via SMS technology so users can reach anyone, at any time."

Mobile messaging for Cisco Jabber, offered as a service, connects to the Cisco IM and Presence server to receive messages intended for wireless endpoints. It interacts with the wireless network to deliver those messages to the wireless phone. In addition, as it receives SMS messages intended for Jabber users, it converts them into instant messages for delivery to the Cisco Jabber client.
