Tampa Bay Water Polo to Host 2015 Guy Harvey Outpost Beach Water Polo Classic

St. Pete Beach, FL, June 12, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Tampa Bay Water Polo will host “2015 Guy Harvey Outpost Beach Water Polo Classic.” The high-energy and fun extreme sport debuts on St. Pete Beach this Saturday, June 13th, 2015, 7:30 am - 2:00 pm.

A sport usually only found in Europe or along the beaches of southern California debuts in the waters off St. Pete Beach just south of the Guy Harvey Outpost. Beach water polo is a more high-energy, high-scoring sport than its Olympic sport counterpart found in pools throughout the world. Fewer field players, a smaller field, the open-water elements, and continuous play challenges its players. Unlike the typical water polo game found in Olympic pools, fans and spectators are encouraged to bring their floats, kayaks, paddle boards and other water crafts to view the games up close.

"Tampa Bay Water Polo is excited to introduce the sport of Beach Water Polo to the area,” said Sean Casella, event coordinator. “We encourage people of all ages to come out and watch this fun and exciting sport.” Participants of the USA Water Polo sanctioned 2015 Guy Harvey Outpost Beach Water Polo Classic include mens and womens teams from across the state of Florida and Canada, including Florida State University and University of Florida.
