New York, NY, June 18, 2015 --(PR.com
)-- Fresh-faced, organic couture fashion line, GREEN EMBASSY, (http://greenembassy.com.au/), is set to participate at this year's Spring/Summer 2016 presentation at Vancouver Fashion Week. Following last year's successful showcase, GREEN EMBASSY will be unveiling their new 'Silent Rainforest' SS16 Collection to the world. A fascinating range of real–life flowers, plants and natural materials to help convey the fragility of the world’s ecosystems. This time abstract eco-prints are made from hibiscus flowers, bougainvillea’s, ferns, orchids, purple carrots, pomegranates, forest berries, beetroot, red cabbage and turmeric on Peace/Vegan silk. To emulate the transient nature of the rainforest's drops and dew designer Zuhal Kuvan-Mills used delightful bursts of Swarovski crystal, beads and glass. The collection is a feast for the senses with an arresting palette of golds, creams, crimsons and violets. Delicate and subtle, yet visually stunning, 'Silent Rainforest' was created to evoke the lightness of the rainforest canopy with its sea of ferns, mosses, trees, butterflies, colourful birds and orchids.
“The title Silent Rainforest is obviously a tribute to Silent Spring, the 1962 classic by Rachel Carson – a book which is credited for launching the modern environmental movement. Rainforests are the world's most diverse habitat. While they cover only a small percentage of the planet's land mass, they shelter half of all the animal and plant species. Unfortunately this rich heritage is fast disappearing at the hands of commercialization,” states designer and founder of GREEN EMBASSY, Zuhal Kuvan-Mills. “One of my greatest wishes as an eco fashion designer and textile artist is to act as a guardian of the earth. Along with my compulsion to create garments that are mesmerizing, beautiful and ethical, I also take seriously my quest to promote a green message to the world stage.”
Australian-based eco-friendly brand GREEN EMBASSY has swiftly taken it's mission to promote organically certified high-fashion across the globe. With a large international following, the brand takes great pride in mixing unexpected natural elements into a full-throttle couture fashion line. Designer Zuhal Kuvan-Mills is a former artist who finds her inspiration to create beautiful garments in her very own backyard of the Australian Outback. By using only the finest of material such as 100% certified organic Australian alpaca, merino, silk and other organic natural fibers GREEN EMBASSY has officially set out to pave the way for other nature-inspired fashion brands. GREEN EMBASSY has recently taken part in various elite fashion events such as showing in Paris, London,Vancouver Fashion Week in 2014, PLITZ New York City Fashion Week in Beijing, China, and New Zealand Eco-Fashion Week. The high-end eco-conscious line is surely taking the fashion industry by storm with its artist appeal and contemporary designs.
“Interestingly, the idea for Silent Rainforest emerged after a recent trip I made to Bali. There, I was devastated to see many areas of natural land being destroyed to make way for tourist developments,” adds designer Zuhal Kuvan-Mills. “My newest collection again accents the romantic feminine through flowing fabrics and elegant lines. As always, my creations use internationally GOTS-certified organic cotton fabrics. In this range, though, I've added another amazing hand-made fabric to my repertoire – Peace silk – Vegan Silk that's been ethically sourced and then hand woven by local artisans from a rainforest region in the Indian state of Orissa.”
