North Shropshire College to Start Veterinary Care Assistants Qualification at Walford and Shipley Campuses

Oswestry, United Kingdom, June 19, 2015 --(PR.com)-- North Shropshire College (NSC) will be starting a Level 2 Veterinary Care Assistants qualification at its Walford and Shipley Campuses this September. The new qualification is a ‘hands-on’ course and introduces the principles of Veterinary Care and will enable students to gain the knowledge and skills needed to work in the veterinary industry. The qualification is designed for people already working in the veterinary industry who wish to advance their skills and progress.

The new qualification is made up of three units covering various aspects of veterinary care. Academic and practical progress will be continually assessed through assignments, work experience, a logbook of case studies and tests. The course is one year in length - one day a week is spent at College with the rest of the week spent at work building on experience.

Charlotte Hunt, Animal Care Lecturer, commented on the importance of this new course, saying "With the veterinary industry expanding year on year, the demand for qualified Veterinary Nursing Assistants and Veterinary Nurses is ever increasing. From September 2015, the Level 2 Diploma for Veterinary Care Assistants will be delivered at NSC’s Walford and Shipley Campuses. Both campuses house a range of animal species and facilities to meet the needs of students wishing to qualify as a Veterinary Care Assistant and enter this ever increasing industry."
