Career Step Announces Winner of April 2015 Mothers Returning to School Scholarship

Career Step is proud to announce that the winner of its April 2015 Mothers Returning to School scholarship is Marlyn Hernandez who will be enrolling in the Professional Medical Coding and Billing program at Citrus College.

Provo, UT, June 24, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Career Step, an online provider of career-focused education and corporate training, is proud to announce that the winner of its April 2015 Mothers Returning to School scholarship is Marlyn Hernandez. Ms. Hernandez will be enrolling in the Professional Medical Coding and Billing program at Citrus College in Glendora, California with all of her tuition costs covered by the scholarship.

“I am honored to be one of the recipients of Career Step’s Mothers Returning to School scholarship award,” said Ms. Hernandez. “This scholarship means so much because it is going to help better my career and my children’s future. It is thanks to educational scholarships like this that I am able to return to school and pursue a different career.”

Ms. Hernandez was selected through a lengthy review process from among numerous applicants. She is currently working two jobs as well as attending college classes part time toward her goal of earning an associate degree. She plans to enroll in the Professional Medical Coding and Billing program available through Citrus College with the aim of gaining the education needed to work only one job, giving her more time to spend with her two children.

Ms. Hernandez chose the Professional Medical Coding and Billing program because she has a number of family and friends already working successfully in the field. The program can also be completed entirely online, providing the flexibility she needs to manage her other work and family responsibilities, and can be completed in just five months.

“Helping individuals improve their lives—whether that’s by increasing their earning potential, having more time to spend with their families, or achieving a personal goal—is why we come to work every day at Career Step,” said President and CEO Steve Tober. “We are excited about our scholarship program as it allows us to expand our reach and help an even greater number of individuals seeking to improve their lives. We congratulate Ms. Hernandez and wish her the best as she’s beginning her training.”

Career Step established its scholarship for mothers returning to school as a way to expand its support of those seeking to improve their lives through education. The school offers three scholarships for mothers who are returning to school throughout the year, and those in situations similar to Ms. Hernandez can submit their applications for consideration in advance of the August 31 or December 31 deadlines.

Career Step also offers a number of other scholarship awards, including one for graduating high school seniors and an award specifically for military service members and their dependents. More information is available and applications can be submitted at CareerStep.com/scholarships.
