Blue Heron Consulting’s Fast Track Methodology

A Key Force Behind Blue Heron’s Successful CC&B Implementation for Clark County Water Reclamation District

Rochester, NY, June 28, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Blue Heron Consulting (BHC), working alongside system integration partner Tech Mahindra recently went live with another successful on-budget, on-schedule implementation of Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing (CC&B) on June 1 at Clark County Water Reclamation District located in Las Vegas, Nev. This is the fifth consecutive CC&B on-budget, on-schedule implementation for BHC.

CCWRD, also known as The District, is the largest wastewater agency in the state of Nevada with 244,000 residential and 9,200 commercial customer accounts. It effectively treats, disinfects and reclaims 100 million gallons of wastewater per day and makes it clean again to safely return to the environment.

The District had identified several shortcomings and challenges related to the legacy system it was using, including:
· Limitations in the software that failed to meet existing and future business needs
· Cumbersome workflow processes that were checklist driven and resulted in inconvenient manual & paper handling processes
· Insufficient customer and account history options within the system
· Deficient system integration opportunities
· Flawed user security, allowing either ‘view only’ or ‘full access’ to function screens

As a result, the District determined it was time to replace its ineffective customer billing system with a state of the art Customer Information System (CIS) like Oracle’s CC&B. An important corporate objective stated by CCWRD during the SI selection process was its desire to utilize its new CIS system for a key mid-summer 2015 customer billing. A key factor behind CCWRD selecting the BHC/Tech M team was its confidence in BHC/Tech M’s ability to utilize BHC’s proven fast track methodology to implement the CC&B software package in nine months to meet the aggressive billing deadline. CCWRD’s decision to go with BHC/Tech M proved to be a great decision as the go-live on June 1 met the nine-month deadline. Furthermore, to the delight of the customer, since the go-live went so smoothly and was achieved with minimal defects, CCWRD was operating in a normal production mode within a few days after the go-live.

Blue Heron’s President & CEO, Stephen Northrup, commented on the successful go-live at CCWRD: “The CCWRD project was a great example of how success can be achieved by synchronizing the strengths of the utility staff with the strengths of the most qualified system integrator. Strong support and leadership from CCWRD project sponsors and project management combined with the project team’s ability to leverage BHC’s fast track methodology templates and accelerators was a huge factor in achieving success.”
