NSC Holds Art Workshop at Primary School

Oswestry, United Kingdom, July 08, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Art Department at North Shropshire College (NSC) delivered an experimental drawing workshop to Class 5 of St John the Baptist Primary School in Ruyton XI Towns this week. Pupils were given the opportunity to explore drawing techniques and materials through the workshops theme: Liverpool. The pupils enjoyed learning about observational drawing methods, including using charcoal to produce enlarged studies as well as large scale stick and ink drawings.

Kate Smallwood, Art Lecturer at NSC’s Oswestry Campus, commented, "This workshop was a really good opportunity for the pupils to explore different drawing techniques and materials and to make it fun, they were taught to explore and experiment and not to be afraid to make mistakes." Pippa Evans, NSC’s Schools Liaison Coordinator, commented "Making links with local schools in the community is very important to engage children in Further Education."
