Pupils Become "Keepers for the Day" at North Shropshire College

Oswestry, United Kingdom, July 22, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Nine Year 6 pupils from Myddle C of E Primary School were lucky enough to spend a day at the Animal Care Unit at North Shropshire College’s (NSC) Walford Campus and be "Keepers for the Day." The pupils were spending their last days at the school, full of fun and festivities before they will move up to the Corbet School and Technology College in Baschurch this September.

The pupils got to be fully involved in all of the duties of a keeper at the unit. They started the day with a guided tour around Walford’s mini-zoo; they then got involved in the feeding process for the meerkats, marmoset monkeys and the College’s collection of birds of prey.

All the pupils had a fantastic time experiencing a day in a keeper’s boots, Pippa Evans, the College’s Schools Liaison Coordinator, commented "The day gave the year 6’s an opportunity to the see amazing array of animals we have at Walford, just 10 minutes away from their doorstep."

There is still time to apply for Animal Care Courses in September. For more information, please call the College Admissions Team on 01691 688080 or email admissions@nsc.ac.uk. You can also apply online at www.nsc.ac.uk.
