Look Inside Feature on Amazon Now Available for DTR Inc. CEO’s Book "Fantasy Football Sidekick"

The book contains interesting data on 96 wide receivers and all 32 teams’ pass defenses for the avid football fan and comprehensive data for the weekly/season-long fantasy football player to analyze.

Delray Beach, FL, July 22, 2015 --(PR.com)-- In his role of lead analyst of 900 Football Links, Jay Goldberg is used to writing about his opinions on football matters. However, rather than produce a book of his opinions, the 2015 version of Jay Goldberg’s football book provides detailed stats on team’s pass defenses, individual wide receivers and players/teams in groups (to better find trends), allowing each reader to find and determine the significance of the many trends that are uncovered in the book.

The statistics contained in the book are not the stats usually provided by fantasy football and season preview magazines. Instead, for example, wide receiver performance is broken out by home and away, division and nondivision, in wins and in losses, against the top 10 pass defenses, the middle eleven pass defenses and the bottom eleven pass defenses, and more.

Stats such as targets per snap, percent of games with 4 or more catches, percent of games with 75 or more yards, percent of games with one or more touchdown, and a stat of his own creation, consistency factor and more, are also in the book.

The statistics in this book are based on historical data. The author advises using an econometric approach when applying the past trends in this book to forecasting future performance. The basis for the econometric approach is that there must be causation in the real world for the past trends to be meaningful. For example, just because a historical statistical model indicates that one can predict stock prices based on the activity of sunspots does not mean that, in good faith, that that model should be used to predict future activity. Why? Because there is no causation in the real world. In other words there is no logical reason for a link between sun spots and stock prices. Therefore, the readers should use their knowledge of players, the sport itself, and logic to come up with the trends in this book that they believe will continue in the future because those trends make sense to them.
