Raleigh, NC, August 06, 2015 --(PR.com)-- William Peace University (http://www.peace.edu), a private four-year university located in the heart of downtown Raleigh, is proud to announce Sarah G. Heenan, a 2008 alumna, as Conference and Events Manager. Previously, Heenan served as Director of Student Services at WPU where she coordinated campus events and activities such as orientation, oversaw student involvement, and helped implement campus-wide green initiatives.

Prior to her time at WPU, Heenan served as a state authorization compliance assistant for Appalachian State University’s Office of Academic Affairs and Legal Counsel, as well as the graduate customer service assistant and textbook rush-floor manager for the university’s bookstore. Prior to that, she served as the bookstore manager for William Peace University. Outside of Peace, Heenan is active in the community having graduated from the City of Raleigh Citizenship Program, a series of free classes that help citizens learn about local government services in Raleigh and Wake County.

“I am very excited to transition into this new role,” Heenan said. “My previous positions and education at WPU have prepared me well for the opportunities ahead. I am honored to have been selected for this position and I hope continue the fantastic work performed by the University’s Conference and Events Office.”

“We are proud of Sarah and all of her accomplishments here at the University,” said Rocky Yearwood, CFA and Interim President of William Peace University. “Sarah has succeeded in every role she has served here and we believe this time will be no different. While we lose a great ambassador for Student Services, we gain a tremendous asset in the Business Office. We are thrilled to have her on the team.”
