Meridian Capital Management Names Timothy Bass Chief Data Officer

Timothy Bass joins the Hong Kong based investment brokerage as chief data officer.

Hong Kong, Hong Kong S.A.R., August 15, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Meridian Capital Management announced today that Timothy Bass has joined the company as chief data officer. In this role, Bass is responsible for the company's data management strategy, policy and governance. He is based in New York and reports to the firm’s Chief Information Officer Anthony Vaughan.

Bass is a senior strategy and data management executive with more than 25 years of experience, including serving as chief data officer for the Bank of China’s markets division and HSBC’s corporate and investment banking unit.

“Tim is a proven leader with an extensive background in data management and data quality,” said Anthony. “Adding Tim to our team demonstrates the companies continued focus and commitment in these critical areas.”

During his career, Bass has managed teams responsible for developing and supporting data management systems, establishing enterprise repositories and building strong support organizations and governance structures to ensure data quality and integrity.

At the Bank of China, Bass worked with various foreign regulators on data management and data quality in the financial sector. At HSBC, he managed the corporate and investment banking unit’s data strategy, policies, line functions and data investments. Prior to HSBC, he worked for other financial institutions including Boom Securities, Polaris Securities and Saxo Capital Markets.

Bass is currently the chairman of the board of directors of the Systemic Trade Data Management Council, an industry association focused on financial industry data management.
