NSC to Hold Multi-Sport Disability Camp

Oswestry, United Kingdom, August 15, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Walford Campus of North Shropshire College will hold be holding a three-day multi-sports camp in the holiday period. The multi-sport camps are aimed at people aged 14 years old or over with an intellectual and/or learning difficulty. The camps have been organised by North Shropshire College (NSC). NSC is working in partnership with North Shropshire Special Olympics to deliver some of the activities. All sessions will be delivered by qualified and experienced staff that will create a fun based, safe and inclusive environment.

The organiser of the Camps, College Sports Maker Benji Evans, commented "I am running these camps as there is a huge need in the North Shropshire area to provide inclusion sports provision. Despite lots of schools and sports organisations delivering sport camps in the area, nobody caters for the disability community and this is an area that I know and understand. I have just got back from Los Angeles, where I coached and led the Great Britain Special Olympic Football Team to a silver medal at the World Games. This experience has really inspired me to develop more provision for people with a disability and this vision to develop more purposeful provision for the local community championed by our College. The summer camp will be a pilot and hopefully the first of many camps and community projects. It is our intention to run regular camps during the festive and Easter break and also during the summer holidays in the future."

The Camps will be held on 17th, 18th and 19th August 2015 and the sessions will start at 10am and conclude at 4pm each day, tickets for all three days are £25 and tickets for single days are £10.
