New York, NY, August 19, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Nicole Ripka Gallery, a Watermill pop-up gallery featuring acclaimed works of art throughout the Summer 2015 season, presents a duo exhibition featuring sculptor Carole A. Feuerman and photographer Bonnie Lautenberg. Guests to the public exhibition will experience hyperrealist sculpture together with photographs.

Carole A. Feuerman is recognized as one of the world’s most renowned, influential, and popular hyperrealist sculptors. Her prolific career spans four decades in which she has pioneered new approaches to sculpture. Working in monumental, life size, and museum size, she is the only figurative artist to hyper-realistically paint bronze for outdoor public art, paint bronze to look like flesh, and the only sculptor to install these painted bronze sculptures in water.

In 2013, her sculpture, The Golden Mean, was bought by the City of Peekskill, NY and sited on the Hudson River where 40,000 people riding the train see it on a daily basis. In May of 2014, Feuerman completed a private commission for the former chair of the Whitney, Robert Hurst. The realistically-painted life size sculpture was a portrait of Hurst’s children playfully perched atop a reflective inflatable Swan. Also in May, the Double Diver, Feuerman’s monumental sculpture towering 26 feet in the air, was bought and installed at NetApp’s headquarters and gifted to the city of Sunnyvale, California. Using innovative techniques to drip molten bronze and successfully balance 4,800 pounds of steel on six-inch wrists, Feuerman pushed the boundaries of art and physics; creating a sculpture that is truly the first of its kind. Her fourth monograph, Swimmers, was just released this past spring.

Her work can be seen at the 2015 Venice Biennale at Palazzo Mora in Personal Structures: Time Space Existence, courtesy of the Global Art Affairs Foundation. She just had a solo exhibition with Art in Harbour City, and the included sculptures are on an Asian tour to Museums in Daejeon and Seoul, Korea. In October she will have solo shows in Frankfurt and London, and eight of her most iconic pieces will be shown in a solo show at the National Hotel in Miami Beach for Art Basel. She continues her focus on public outdoor sculptures and table-top pieces. Feuerman maintains two studios in Chelsea NYC and Mana Contemporary in NJ. On an ongoing basis, Feuerman’s work can be seen in selected galleries and museums worldwide.

Bonnie Lautenberg, an esteemed photographer, writer philanthropist and businesswoman, has received critical praise throughout her photographic career. Lautenberg's photography has been exhibited at leading galleries including the Howard Greenberg Gallery and Vered Art Gallery, as well as institutions such as the Newark Museum, the Portland Museum of Art and The Smithsonian Museum of African American History and Culture. Lautenberg has exhibited in numerous Hamptons exhibitions and fairs including Art Hamptons 2015 and ArtSouthampton 2014, each through the Chicago-based Jean Albano Gallery. In 2013 she presented "How They Changed Our Lives: Senators as Working People," a compilation of portraits of U.S. Senators from the 109th-110th Congresses. The portraits are currently on view on the Library of Congress Website, and have been exhibited at Mana Contemporary in Jersey City.

The exhibition will take place from August 22 until September 20 at The Mill, 760 Montauk Highway in Watermill, NY. A portion of the proceeds from purchases made during the exhibition’s opening night reception on the evening of August 22 from 5-8 p.m. will benefit the Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation and the Lung Cancer Research Foundation.
