About 45% of collected clothing and 95% of collected footwear is reused "as is." Most apparel and footwear that's reused "as is" is exported and sold in markets around the world that demand affordable clothing.

Nearly half of all recycled apparel, household textiles and accessories are relooped and recycled. Roughly 20% of these recycled materials become recycled fibers, ultimately become insulation for homes and vehicles, carpet padding and furniture stuffing. Approximately 30% of the recycled materials are reclaimed and converted into wiping rags used as absorbents in industrial and residential applications. Increasingly, some percentage of fibers are being recaptured for apparel companies that use cutting edge technology to recycle 100% polyester fiber into new polyester fibers.
