Creative Impulse and Voyage Media Launch Screenplay-to-Comic Business

Los Angeles, CA, September 11, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Transmedia production company Creative Impulse Entertainment (CIE) and screenwriting development hub Voyage Media have partnered to launch a screenplay-to-comic-book adaptation business. CIE and Voyage will jointly work with emerging screenwriters and authors to produce various forms of comic book content to pre-visualize and build brand awareness for their stories prior to pitching to Hollywood production companies, studios, and networks.

As an initial release, today the partners are introducing a new format to the comic book industry – the Graphic Screenplay. CIE’s “JFH: Justice For Hire”, the most downloaded mixed martial arts series on several digital comic book platforms, is the inaugural project to receive the Graphic Screenplay treatment – a first-of-it’s-kind format that gradually bleeds a graphic novel into a traditional screenplay. Executives from CIE and Voyage comment:

“Partnering with Voyage allows us to share best practices we’ve developed for merging the mediums of comics and film while planting seeds for more creator-driven content across media.” CIE CEO Jan Lucanus continues, “The ‘JFH’ Graphic Screenplay sets the stage for a new way for writers to articulate their complete vision, plus it’s a treat for ‘JFH’ fans. The release amounts to 12 full-sized comic book issues packed into one book, concluding a story-arc that fans have awaited for 8 years.”

“We’re very excited about aligning forces with Creative Impulse,” says Voyage CEO Nat Mundel, “Not only is this a way for emerging creators to visually showcase their stories to the entertainment industry, but it also creates a much needed, first-step revenue stream for their I.P.”

Initiator of the deal between CIE & Voyage and founder of Nine Dot Entertainment, Patrick Brennan, adds, “The comic medium has always been a great format to visualize a feature film or TV concept while simultaneously getting a product on the market. With this partnership, we are going to bring exciting new brands to audiences and empower talented writers to take ownership of their own careers while we are at it.”
