Positive FACE Hosts Town Hall with Bill and Melinda Gates & The Delta Research Education Foundations; Details in The Andrea Kaye Show

San Diego, CA, September 16, 2015 --(PR.com)-- On September 19, 2015, San Diego nonprofit, Positive FACE, will host a Town Hall as part of a 40-city simultaneous Town Hall on National Teacher Efficiency. The Town Hall is from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Positive FACE will also host the Education Resource Fair that same day from 8 a.m. to noon in the Educational Cultural Complex – 4343 Oceanview Blvd., San Diego, CA, 92113. Both offer free admission.

The Town Hall will include discussions between concerned parents, teachers and the San Diego community regarding K-12 academic excellence. Detailed documentation from the meeting will be collected and compiled with the other sessions, and used for a national study sponsored by the Delta Research and Education Foundation, in partnership with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and then published in the 2016 PHILLIS Scholarly Journal.

Gina Surgeon is the Founder of Positive FACE. Its mission is to encourage positive life choices in fostered and adopted children. The acronym of Positive FACE means Positive Foster and Adopted Children Excel.

Positive FACE’s goal for its included children is to have at least 80 percent graduate from high school equipped with vocational and academic readiness.

Surgeon explains, “Positive FACE is the youngest of the 40 organizations hosting one of the national Delta Teacher Efficacy Campaign Town Hall sessions. The core objectives of the [Town Hall] are greatly aligned with the mission and purpose of our organization. As community organizations like Positive FACE work with teachers and families, we can assure a greater level of self-sufficiency in all students and a more empowered national workforce.”

The Town Hall moderator is Dr. R. Vernon Moore, Executive Director, Office of Youth Advocacy. The panel includes San Diego educators such as Dr. Randolph Ward, Superintendent of Schools, San Diego County Office of Education, and Fabiola Bagula, Area 6 Superintendent, San Diego Unified School District.
