Big Fresh Creates New Corporate Identity for Unity Care NW

Big Fresh Creates New Corporate Identity for Unity Care NW (Formerly Interfairth Community Health Center) in Bellingham, Wa.

Bellingham, WA, October 14, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Bellingham based web design and development company, Big Fresh, is pleased to announce the completion of a new corporate identity for Unity Care NW. Unity Care NW, formerly Interfaith Community Health Center, is a nonprofit organization providing medical, dental, pharmaceutical, and behavioral health services in Whatcom County.

Gib Clarke, Director of Planning and Development at Unity Care NW, hired Big Fresh to create a new corporate identity (logo, printed materials, web marketing pieces, etc.) to be released in conjunction with Unity Care NW’s name change. With a name in place, Clarke requested a logo design that reflected the new focus of Unity Care NW. “We weren’t looking for just any logo. We needed one that matched our unique set of services,” says Clarke. “Big Fresh took abstruse terminology and turned it into a poetic symbol that encapsulates our work and mission. And it looks good to boot!”

The new logo, inspired by the heraldic knot, features a continuous line with four different colored loops symbolizing interconnection and oneness. The loops visually represent Unity Care NW’s four main services—medical, dental, pharmaceutical, and behavioral health. “The logo reflects this idea of unity, of coming together as a whole,” says Des Skubi, Executive Director at Unity Care NW. “[The loops] are independent, yet interrelated. They work in unison, just like our services,” says Skubi.

An animated video designed and created by Big Fresh was shown during a recent gala where Unity Care NW announced their new name. The video, an integral part of the name change announcement, animates the continuous sections of the logo while introducing the new name. The video can be found on Unity Care NW’s website.

“We’ve been working with Unity Care NW for awhile now and were thrilled at the opportunity to collaborate on another project,” says Mark Lee, Co-owner and Creative Director of Big Fresh. “I think we are primarily known as a web-development company in Whatcom County—but in fact we are a full-service design and development company and work on a variety of corporate identity and print design projects—in addition to our web work,” says Lee.

To complete the new corporate identity, Big Fresh is in the process of updating all print and web marketing materials, along with on-site signage for Unity Care NW.
