Boston, MA, October 26, 2015 --(PR.com
)-- Whittl, the site and app that helps you find, schedule, and pay for local services, announced its launch into the Boston market. Boston is the second city for the Chicago based company that closed a Series A round of $3.3 million in June. For the launch, Whittl has partnered with more than 100 of Boston’s best salons, spas and barbershops.
Whittl allows consumers to quickly book high quality personal care services – from haircuts and manicures to massages and waxing – with the top local businesses. Users can search by location, appointment time and customer ratings, and even pay online, creating a seamless in-and-out experience for the customer.
“We’ve become the largest booking platform in Chicago by building a better customer experience,” said Mike Zivin the Company’s Co-Founder. Whittl customers come back and use the product twice a month on average, according to Zivin. At the same time, Whittl partners with local businesses and brings in new customers without monthly fees or discounting. This is unique in an industry that has historically resorted to daily deals to drive customer traffic.
For the initial launch, the company has partnered with businesses in Boston’s Back Bay, Downtown, South Boston, Allston-Brighton, Beacon Hill, Jamaica Plains, South End, Fenway, West End and Dorchester neighborhoods. Whittl also has partnered with businesses in Somerville, Brookline and Cambridge. The company is adding over 100 new businesses a month in the Boston area.
“We chose Boston as our second city because it has smart, educated consumers who are trying to fit more into their busy day,” said Ashley Groves, Whittl’s Director of Growth. “Boston has a great community of small businesses with a thriving tech scene so it was a natural extension for Whittl after succeeding in Chicago.”
Whittl makes it easy for people to find, compare and book appointments with over 1,000 high quality neighborhood businesses. Launched in 2012, Whittl is headquartered in Chicago and has raised a total of $4.6 million in funding. To learn more about the Whittl product visit https://www.whittl.com/
