NSC Media Student Uses Alter Ego to Raise Money

Oswestry, United Kingdom, October 25, 2015 --(PR.com)-- A North Shropshire College (NSC) student has taken the identity of a Marvel Superhero to help raise money for charity. Tom Arthur is studying the Level 2 Diploma in Media, as part of his qualification; Tom is studying the ‘Deadpool’ comics and the Deadpool character. Tom will be appearing at a charity Halloween party at West Felton Village Hall this year, helping raise money for Cancer Research UK. The Halloween Party is arranged by Tom’s mother who survived cancer several years ago, and takes place the Saturday before Halloween every year.

David Watts, Media Studies lecturer, commented, "Tom has been researching the ‘Deadpool’ comics as part of his OCR Level 2 Diploma in Media at NSC and has been inspired to assume the identity of this offbeat superhero at his parents’ annual charity event. It is very pleasing to see our media students bringing their newly acquired knowledge and understanding to the wider community and spreading a little happiness along the way."
