Several hundred marketing professionals gathered to focus on presentations featuring 15 speakers from some of the top brands, agencies and technology providers in the US. The event was hosted at the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina from September 23-25.
During the two-day conference, attendees were immersed in social media marketing concepts such as “The Power of Participation Marketing,” and “Secrets to Content Creation and Distribution at Scale.” “An inspirational few days,” said Roseman, “providing a great opportunity to be among so many peers, sharpen skills, share ideas and grow in the process. Conferences of this kind are always rewarding personally and professionally, as we ultimately strengthen skill sets that translate to our abilities to better serve our clients.”
The conference featured some of the industry’s top thought leaders including Jay Baer, a New York Times bestselling author and founder of Convince & Convert Media; Scott Monty, former Global Digital and Multimedia Communications Manager at Ford Motor Company; and Adrian Parker, Vice President of Digital Marketing at The Patrón Spirits Company, among many others.
There were many valuable insights to be gleaned at the event. Among them was an ever-arching emphasis on the power of community. This was especially brought home by Facebook’s Laurie Mueller’s presentation, “How to Leverage Facebook Groups.” DRMG plans to continue to build a local presence in Naples, FL by leveraging social forums such as Facebook groups and Meetup to collaborate with other Digital Marketing specialists, as well as local business owners looking to leverage social media to further their business.
“It was really a surreal experience,” said Brady. “To be among hundreds of my peers, all involved with Social Media in some form or fashion really opened my eyes and tweaked my original way of thinking when it comes to social. Although we all shared common goals, the ways in which each of us implemented them vastly differed. Just goes to show you the flexible nature of social media and the many ways you can leverage it to achieve real outcomes.”
