Greensboro, NC, November 07, 2015 --(PR.com
)-- Students in kindergarten to grade 5 are invited to enter the First Annual Student Art and Writing Contest hosted by the National Watermelon Promotion Board in partnership with TEC Media Group. Teachers visit TheMailbox.com/watermelon to download contest materials and fun, skill-based activities for learning about watermelon.
Both students and teachers are eligible for great prizes:
-Each student winner receives $100.
-Each student winner’s teacher receives $100.
-Each student winner’s class receives $100 to host a Watermelon Party.
“Too often kids get inundated with messages about sugary snacks and high-fat foods,” says Chris Brewer, President of the TEC Media Group. “Watermelon is a healthy snack, so creating slogans and artwork to showcase the benefits is both a wonderful creative challenge and a good life lesson for students.”
When teachers visit TheMailbox.com/watermelon, they’ll find everything they need to get students’ creativity flowing:
-contest how-to guide
-slogan starter guide
-art starter guide
-watermelon investigation and research project
While at the site, teachers also can enter for a chance to win a $500 grand prize or one of three $100 runner-up prizes - just for signing up.
The teacher sweepstakes ends 11/30/15. Student entries for the art and writing contest are due 2/1/16. Contests open to US students and teachers only.
