Dancing with the Rising Stars Benefit for Furniture Sharehouse November 18th

The Business Council of Westchester is hosting Dancing with the Rising Stars - a dance extravaganza to benefit Furniture Sharehouse. White Plains, NY, November 12, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Business Council of Westchester is hosting Dancing with the Rising Stars to benefit Furniture Sharehouse, Westchester’s Furniture Bank.

Five couples, alumni of The Business Council of Westchester’s Rising Stars program, will compete in a friendly dance competition to be held at The White Plains Performing Arts Center at 11 City Place, in White Plains. Each pair of Rising Star dancers will vie to be “Best in Show” and “Fan’s Favorite.” Couples are being sponsored by local dance schools including: The Greenwich Ballroom, On My Toes, Fred Astaire Tarrytown, and the Arthur Murray Dance Studios of Mount Kisco and White Plains.

Special entertainment will be provided by singer/songwriter, J Antonette, owner of Westchester based JTonezMusic (Boutique Music Events). Judges for the competition are Dr. Marsha Gordon (Business Council of Westchester), Kurt Kannemeyer (St. Christopher’s Inc.), Andrew Castellano (Sharc Creative Inc.), Jerry McKinstry (The November Team) and Special Guest Judge - J.R. Martinez (best-selling author, retired Army soldier and season 13 champion on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars). Event co-hosts will be Jamie Johnson of Pelham and Split Rock Golf, and Maria Bronzi of Altium Wealth Management.

Tickets for this November 18th fundraiser are available online at www.westchesterny.org. Cocktail hour will start at 5:30pm and the performance will run from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Parking will be available at City Center Municipal Lot.

Furniture Sharehouse collects gently-used furniture from the public and redistributes it to Westchester families and individuals in need to fill their empty apartments and help them rebuild their lives. Clients are referred by a network of over 25 member agencies, including Westhab Inc., WestCOP, Human Development Services of Westchester, Hope’s Door, Choice, The Guidance Center and many more. Furniture Sharehouse helps over 450 families per year and relies on donations from the community to furnish these families.
