Joule Offers a "Powerful" New Way of Thinking About Outlets

Joule is going to change the way people look at power strips, extension cords and the struggle to charge; early orders now available on IndieGoGo.

Los Angeles, CA, November 12, 2015 --(PR.com)-- In today’s world of electronic dependency, everyone needs to find a plug at one point during the day. However, most of us rarely pay attention to how hard we usually have to work to locate an outlet in the spot we need it.

When you’re at the airport, the plugs are taken. When you’re at a coffee shop there are no seats near outlets. When you’re at home, the outlet is hidden behind the couch. Joule Founder Harp Ghoman questions why people have accepted this painful existence for so long, and went in search of a solution.

“Joule is going to change how we look at the power strip and extension cord market forever,” Ghoman said. “For the first time, the consumer has the choice to purchase a truly beautiful power accessory to match your slick electronics.”

Joule comes with a detachable cable that can be swapped out for different lengths, and built-in USB Ports to charge multiple mobile devices. Surge Protection keeps everything running safely, and the wall mount lets users place power outlets exactly where they are needed most. Joule is portable, and even has a light inside to make it easy to plug-in in the dark.

Joule launched on Indiegogo (http://igg.me/at/gowithjoule) earlier this week with several affordable packages for pre-ordering the product. Ghoman sees a big future for Joule with the necessary funding in place.

“After JouleBAR comes its two siblings, the JouleBIT and JouleBOX,” Ghoman said. “With these two products, Joule rounds out a line of power accessories that compliment near every power supply scenario at home, the office, or on the road.”

Following alongside, Ghoman would like to see battery integration within Joule to provide mobile charging without a power cable. This will be roughly 2100-2400 mA, depending on the battery size, which isn’t going to run your hair dryer but it will charge your cell phone or tablet in a pinch.

Also on the drawing board is a car adapter cable that will allow Joule to safely convert the electricity of your vehicle for use on the road. The user will be able to simply detach the standard Joule power cable and attach the Joule Car Adapter cable that plugs into the vehicles cigarette lighter.

“We would also like to integrate Smart Home Technology, which will allow you to control and regulate the power supplied through the line of Joule products from the Joule I/O App on your mobile device,” Ghoman said.

Why? Because according to Ghoman up to 10% of our electric bill is wasted on stand-by draw which takes electricity from your wall outlets even when your devices and appliances are turned off.

“The Joule I/O App will save you money and the Earth will be happier too,” Ghoman said.

The Joule team is also looking into Solar Credits which allow users to decide where the electricity they consume through Joule comes from, be it Solar, Coal or otherwise.

“We believe that given the choice nearly everyone will choose renewable energy and by doing so, create a greater demand for it, thus making is more available and efficient to us all,” Ghoman said.

To start the path to this great future, Joule is now available for pre-orders on Indiegogo at up to 50% off the expected retail value.

About Joule
Joule began when Harp Ghoman and Deepi Ahluwalia realized there was a better way to design power strips. They believe you can elevate anything through thoughtful design and innovation – even a humble power accessory. Together they Co-Founded Eye Engine Inc, a boutique design and production company that opened up the time and resources to redesign the current power strip and extension cord.
