A Weekend Holiday Extravaganza

Clearwater, FL, November 18, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Arc Tampa Bay Foundation’s 31st Annual Festival of Trees, presented by AmeriLife, returns to the Long Center from November 20 – 22, 2015. This year’s theme, Jingle Bell Jubilee, is a nod to the City of Clearwater’s Centennial celebration. This year’s Festival of Trees is an official Clearwater Centennial Event and will also be bringing back the Mayors Challenge, a special category of decorated trees. Participating cities and towns include: Clearwater, Dunedin, Belleair, Oldsmar and Belleair Bluffs.

The Festival of Trees is an indoor public display of spectacular holiday trees ranging from 3’ to 7’ tall, wreaths, and other holiday gifts, all available for purchase. Funds raised during the event directly support The Arc Tampa Bay, area leader in the provision of services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).

“This is the perfect kick-off to the holiday season,” says Madison Orr Hauenstein, Executive Director of The Arc Tampa Bay Foundation. “Dollars raised help us secure a strong financial future for those served by The Arc Tampa Bay. This event brings the community together for the common cause of creating awareness and support for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.”

Festival of Trees is fortunate to have Kiersten and Travis Finchum as returning Event Chairs. “We had such a huge success last year, we just had to be involved again,” stated Kiersten Finchum.

The event opens to the public on Friday, November 20th for the low general admission ticket price of $5.00. Children 10 and under are free. Friday hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Saturday, featuring Santa Saturday, opens at 9:00 a.m., Santa arrives at 10:00 a.m. and doors are open until 8:00 p.m.; Sunday is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the door, the west entrance of the Long Center.

Friday evening, the committee presents the Festival of Trees, Premiere Night Gala, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Premiere Night tickets are available at $75.00 per person. Premiere Night features an array of food offerings from the top area restaurants, live music, dancing, both live and silent auctions, and holiday tree shopping. Molly duPont Schaffer, Premiere Night Chair and President of The Arc Tampa Bay Foundation, says, “I love Premiere Night! It’s the traditional kick off to the holiday season in our community, and a great reminder of our need to assist those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.”
