NSC Holds Apprenticeships Event

Oswestry, United Kingdom, December 11, 2015 --(PR.com)-- North Shropshire College (NSC) has recently held an open event at its campuses at Walford and Oswestry. The event was for people interested in doing an apprenticeship and employers who may have been interested in employing an apprentice or up-skilling their employees with an apprenticeship.

Lucy Bowen, Apprenticeships Manager at NSC, commented, "We had a great turnout, it was good to see local employers supporting the event and we look forward to working with new employers in the future. Potential apprentices looking for work in many sectors came along and our assessors are working with them to secure placements. All in all, it was a very successful event that we will be repeating annually."

NSC offers apprenticeships in 19 different sectors, such as; Business Administration, Health and Social Care, Building Maintenance Operations, Agricultural Engineering, Agriculture, Equine and Gamekeeping. Potential apprentices found support in finding an apprenticeship placement and employers found out what support was available from the Government for employing an apprentice.

There are many benefits to doing an apprenticeship at NSC; you will receive support from an assessor throughout your qualification and Functional Skills qualifications in English, Maths and ICT. There is no upper age limit and you can start an apprenticeship at any time, no need to wait until September 2016 to start your course. There is the £1500 AGE grant for small employers who take on apprentices; this will end December this year.
