Tracking and Removing Wrinkles with the Power of Your Mobile Phone

Youth Laboratories, a company focused on translating cutting-edge aging research from laboratory to household has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. The goal is to raise $7,000 from donors all over the world to finalize the development and launch a mobile app, called "RYNKL”. This application tracks facial wrinkles and helps to correct them using various interventions including skin care products, lifestyle, exercise, and supplements.

Baltimore, MD, December 16, 2015 --(PR.com)-- "Imagine a world without aging, where people are healthy and beautiful for their entire lives. Thousands of researchers all over the world are hard at work in their laboratories to turn this dream into reality. But at present, what matters to people is not how old they are, but how they look. We are developing a set of user-friendly applications that will help to track the age-related facial changes and test the variety of interventions and cosmetics products that are appearing on a market. Please support our campaign. You will be helping a team, which cares about your health more than you can ever imagine. The impact of this project may be immense," said Alexey Shevtsov, CEO of Youth Laboratories.

The team selected Kickstarter as a platform of choice to launch a campaign for the RYNKL app. Donors will be offered a range of reward options ranging from early access to the app, consultations with scientists in hair and skin aging, research partnerships, and even customized app development for beauty salons and plastic surgery clinics.

"We are conducting the research of aging biomarkers on the molecular, tissue, organ and organismal-levels, however there are few markers that are same easy to obtain being so accurate as a high-resolution photo of a human face. The state of your face can tell a lot about your health. Surprisingly, for most people this is the most important biomarker and we are developing a set of tools to provide the power of modern anti-aging research to everyone with a smartphone," said Alex Zhavoronkov, PhD, Chief Science Officer of Youth Laboratories and CEO of Insilico Medicine, Inc, a leading company in the bioinformatics of aging.

The team is using both parametric and machine learning algorithms to track the multiple parameters of the face that may not be easily tracked just by periodically looking in the mirror. Researchers at Youth Laboratories are also developing a set of apps for tracking the changes in facial symmetry and skin pigmentation linked to perceived visual appeal. Youth Laboratories earlier helped to develop and launch the world's first beauty contest judged by robots - www.Beauty.AI and will be launching both Android and iOS cognitive applications to provide a platform for many artificial intelligence systems to learn to appreciate the beauty of human face.
