Eight-Year-Old David Militello Returns to Center Court

David Militello, a third grader with autism, returns to Philips Arena to perform the National Anthem at the Atlanta Hawks vs. Indiana Pacers basketball game on Wednesday, December 26, 2007.

Atlanta, GA, December 21, 2007 --(PR.com)-- David Militello, a third grader at Chapel Hill Elementary School in Douglasville, Georgia, returns to Philips Arena to perform the National Anthem at the Atlanta Hawks vs. Indiana Pacers basketball game on Wednesday, December 26, 2007. The eight-year-old’s first performance at Philips Arena on November 11, 2007, earned him a call from The Ellen DeGeneres Show. David will also perform the National Anthem for the Autism Speaksä Georgia Walk for Autism Event on Saturday, April 12, 2008 in Atlanta. David has Asperger Syndrome, a pervasive developmental condition related to autism, and was in the Special Needs Program until the end of his second grade. He is now high-functioning and is in the process of recording a song his mother wrote titled “The Sound of Autism,” to benefit research for a cure.

On Friday, December 21, 2007 at 11:00 a.m., David will be performing at the SCLC/W.O.M.E.N., Inc.’s Children’s Christmas Party at Rosel Fann Recreation Center at 365 Cleveland Avenue in Atlanta. At 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 28, 2007, David will perform for the Atlanta Urban League at 100 Edgewood Avenue in Atlanta. On Thursday, December 13, 2007, he performed for nearly 1,500 senior citizens at the Georgia International Convention Center.
