Getzner to Showcase Unmatched Sealing Technology at AHR Expo

Closed Cell Polyurethane Gasket Material for HVACR Applications

Charlotte, NC, January 04, 2016 --( Getzner, the leading manufacturer of technical polyurethane materials for construction, industrial and railway applications, is expanding its gasket and vibration mitigation product lines to the HVACR industry. Proving viability with companies such as JBC Technologies, Mueller Die Cut Technologies and Precision Gasket Company, Getzner is featuring its Sylodyn® GC closed cell polyurethane gasket material at the AHR Expo January 25-27 in Orlando at booth #3294. Getzner’s material not only serves as a functional component, but also for vibration mitigation. The company has been manufacturing the polyurethane materials since 1975 and is the world market leader in the engineered elasticity field.

Engineered as an elastic component for dynamic seals and environmental enclosures, Getzner’s Sylodyn® GC provides unmatched durability, adhesion and strength. It offers uncompromised resistance against the elements as well as chemicals, significantly lessening the need for replacement. Unlike silicone foam, it’s PSA-friendly and a more economical solution. It’s also UL 50E and 94 HBF Certified.

Modern buildings are becoming increasingly complex in terms of their construction and fittings, making them more sensitive to vibrations. As such, the buildings amplify and transmit structure-borne noise from the facilities installed inside. By reducing vibrations, the mechanical system is quieter and yields longer service life of the machines and equipment, as well as the surrounding area. Elastically mounted heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment is more cost-effective and efficient in the long term. Given their long-lasting, stable properties, Getzner’s Sylomer® and Sylodyn® are ideal materials for reducing vibrations caused by HVAC equipment. Solutions that are added later are often more expensive in comparison, which is why it is recommended to consider elastic mounting at the planning stage. A demonstration of the material’s ability to mitigate vibration will be ongoing at the booth.

Application examples include the following:
· Air conditioning (AC) systems
· Combined heat and power plants (CHP plants)
· Refrigerating machines
· Cooling towers
· Fans
· Heat pumps
