Mint Indian Bistro Partnered with Whole Foods for a Live Cooking Demo and Tasting on January 13, 2016 in Las Vegas

Mint Indian Bistro is Giving Indian Food a Healthy Twist and Catering to All Dietary Needs

Las Vegas, NV, January 08, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Mint Indian Bistro; a full-service Indian restaurant has been giving Indian food a healthy twist for over seven years now by offering healthy options to its diners in Las Vegas. The restaurant recently partnered with a local Whole Foods store to showcase its commitment to offering foods for various dietary needs. As part of this initiative, Whole Foods will host Mint Bistro’s Live Cooking Demo and Tasting at its Fort Apache location on Wednesday, January 13th from 11 am to 2 pm.

“We are the first Indian restaurant in Las Vegas (and possibly the world) to redefine Indian food and serve up organic, vegan, and gluten-free options for our diners,” co-owner of Mint Indian Bistro, Kris Parikh said. “Therefore, it was a natural decision to partner with Whole Foods, which is synonymous with healthy food.”

The menu for the live cooking demo is Chana Masala (garbanzo beans dish), Buckwheat Roti and Mango Lassi. The live cooking demo is free for all to attend and there will be sampling at the end of the demo.

Keri Moore, Marketing Field Team Leader at Whole Foods said they are excited to host Mint Indian Bistro’s Live Cooking Demo and Tasting at their store.

“It’s a great opportunity for our customers to taste nutrient dense, plant-based Indian cuisine,” she said.

According to Kris, Mint is truly changing the perception of Indian food.

“No other Indian restaurant has introduced a range of healthy options on its menu, nevertheless options that will include people with special dietary needs, such as Vegans and those who would like Gluten-free options,” said Kris.

In fact, Kris’ own healthy eating habits led him to make the commitment to only serve 100% natural (antibiotic free) meat and poultry in his restaurant seven years ago.

Inspired by his own recent dietary choices, Kris also offers an a la carte menu with a robust selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes.

“We’re really talking about a cuisine that boasts a myriad vegetarian dishes that are flavorful and healthy. As we saw the trend toward Vegan foods, we immediately crafted a whole menu for vegans. We did the same with gluten-free dishes and have come up with a great variety of delicious menu options for these specific diets,” he said.

“We are building a bridge to healthy living,” added Kris, who is a pure vegetarian himself and loves his plant-based diet. “Many of our patrons love us as they are able to find healthy and delicious diet options within our menu.”

Mint Indian Bistro is a restaurant where people from divergent dietary requirements can break bread together. Or as Kris puts it, “break naan together.”

“We have something for everyone,” added Kris. “Basically anything you would find in a typical Indian restaurant is here. We just have many versions of it.”

Known for being innovative with the menu and always adding a contemporary twist to its food, while also serving up some very traditional dishes, Mint Indian Bistro is at the forefront of the healthy eating revolution.

“Often times our Vegan patrons bring non-vegans to try out our vegan food and they end up coming again to order from the Vegan menu,” he said. “You don’t have to be Vegan to enjoy vegan dishes.”

At the Live Cooking Demo and Tasting event, Mint’s Chef Lok will share a few of their popular gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian dishes in the Prepared Foods department of Whole Foods Market so attendees can recreate some of these dishes at home.

The event is free and anyone in the store can attend. You can RSVP for it here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1222571301092625/
