FilmCrave.com Wins Best Niche Social Network

Filmcrave, a Kansas City based movie social network, won the Judge's Choice award for best Niche Social Network.

Kansas City, MO, December 22, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The 1st Annual Open Web Awards: Judge's Choice winners were announced today and FilmCrave, a unique movie centric social network, was among the winners. The judges, made up of the top 30 technology blog partners, cast their votes for who they felt were the best of the web. Their list included big name winners in addition to FilmCrave, such as Facebook, Digg, ESPN, YouTube and Flickr.

FilmCrave was definitely the new kid on the block, officially launching August 1st, 2007. Since then, FilmCrave has been attracting lots of new members and adding countless new features to its already impressive resume. FilmCrave members share movie reviews, create movie lists, chat with friends and watch movie trailers.

"This is a big week for us," said Alex Olson, Co-Founder of FilmCrave. "We had a good write-up in the Lincoln Journal Star and now the Judge's Choice award." The Lincoln Journal Star article Alex referred to, called FilmCrave a "bulked and caffeinated" version of Facebook's "Favorite Movie" section.

FilmCrave is still in the running for the People's Choice awards, but they feel the Judges Choice was the more coveted of the two.

The Open Web Awards will be held on January 10th in San Francisco, CA. Mashable.com an authority on social networks will be holding the event at the Palace Hotel for the 26 winners.
