NSC’s Football Scholarship’s Successful Season

Oswestry, United Kingdom, January 14, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The season so far for the TNS Football Scholarship in partnership with North Shropshire College (NSC) has been somewhat of a success. With both the E1 and E2 squads competing in leagues against bigger and more illustrious colleges, few would have expected both teams to be doing so well both in their respective league and cup competitions.

The E1 squad managed by Steve Evans, currently sit second in their Category 2A premier league and have a game in hand on Hartpury. The squad have travelled as far as Worcester, and are still in the County Cup semi-finals against Shrewsbury School, and more impressively the quarter-finals of the National Cup, with the game to be played away to MK Dons this Friday. The squad also managed to win the 7v7 West Midlands tournament and will now represent the College and the area in the National finals in April away at Newcastle. Coach Steve Evans said "I have been very pleased with how the players have adapted themselves to the club philosophy and how well they have gelled as a team. The hard work they put in during the training sessions is starting to pay off, but I am under no illusions that the hard work is not over yet."

The E2 squad managed by Steve Benyon have so far exceeded all expectations. The side currently sit top of their Category 3E league, and also are in the fourth round of the national cup. The club have not only conducted themselves fantastically well on the pitch, but have also adapted well to the new coaching and training regimes in place, and have simply blown opposition teams away with their creative and attacking style of play. Coach Steve Benyon said "I have been surprised and at the same time excited as to how the players have reacted to the individual and team objectives we set out at the start of the season. People in the past have written off the E2 side, and their hard work, togetherness and general technical ability has seen a number of the lads play up in the E1 on regular occasions. However we all know as a team that we are to take one game at a time, and must not get carried away with the fantastic start to the season which has seen us remain unbeaten in just over three months."

Steve Benyon goes on to say "I must thank the sport team at College who continue to provide fantastic education to all the players, and allow the players the time to compete both in the training sessions and matches. It is definitely a whole team effort."
