)-- Larry Lourcey of Lourcey Photography in Plano, Texas has earned the master artist degree from Professional Photographers of America (PPA).
The degree was presented to Lourcey by PPA president Michael Timmons, M. Photog. M. Artist. Cr., CPP, F-ASP, at the association’s annual convention, Imaging USA, held January 10-12, 2016 in Atlanta, Georgia.
This degree is not merely a piece of paper. It means that Lourcey has met the standards of excellence set by PPA. He has been awarded the master artist degree in recognition of his superior photographic competence and enhancement of images with artistic techniques as demonstrated through photographic competition, advanced education, and service to the profession.
Lourcey's master artist degree—and all the expertise it requires—illustrates his accomplishments and talent as one of a select few. “I pursued the Artist degree because not many photographers have the Master Photographer and Master Artist degrees,” says Lourcey. “Honing my artistic skills was a natural complement to my existing photographic style.”
He uses his artistic ability to put a creative twist on the typical portrait. From children, to families, to business executives, the creative use of lighting, posing and Photoshop magic help him to create truly captivating images.
