Riley Contracting Group Renovates East Building of North Carolina Museum of Art

Local General Contractor Working to Complete $2.5 Million Upgrade to Art Museum’s Storage and Preservation Systems

Cary, NC, February 13, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Riley Contracting Group, a family-owned, local general contractor serving North Carolina for more than 25 years, has announced that it is working to complete a more than $2.5 million renovation of portions of the North Carolina Museum of Art’s East Building. The 181,000-square-foot facility was the first building to open on the museum’s Blue Ridge Road site in 1983.

Notably, the project includes renovations to the museum’s art storage and preservation operations. Upgraded storage technology, a roof replacement, revised floor plan and new finishes will result in a state-of-the-art facility capable of preserving the museum’s expanding collection of valuable artwork.

Moreover, the building’s first-floor State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) Auditorium is being overhauled with improved lighting, seating and finishes. Other work includes upgrades to the auditorium lobby, SECU Distance Learning Center, the North Carolina GlaxoSmithKline Foundation Education Gallery and Duke Energy Education Studio 1A/B, which are dedicated to the work of North Carolina’s younger artists in grades preschool through college, as well as new elevators, bathrooms and office spaces.

Known for completing projects on time and on budget, Riley Contracting Group has extensive experience with civil and educational projects in the Triangle, including projects for North Carolina State University, Town of Morrisville and Wake County.
