How Sprrkle Media Cut Its Film Production Cost in Half

Sprrkle Media produced two unrelated movies by concurrent filming using the same cast, the same crew and the same locations.

Hollywood, CA, February 29, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Sprrkle Media filmed two movies concurrently, using the same cast, the same crew and the same locations, from two distinctly different and original stories. “As independent filmmakers, we have to be extremely resourceful. In a film production, a lot of time, money and challenges are in coordinating people, locations and designing sets. By filming both at the same time using the same team and the same sets, we were able to film very quickly and inexpensively,” said Director Petra Lo. The two fifteen-minute films, “Daddy Issues” and “The Recruit” are now completed, with “Daddy Issues” entering film festivals around the world and “The Recruit” to be released at a later date.

“Daddy Issues” is the emotional story of an adopted woman, growing up feeling loved by the family that raised her, but still struggling with the sense of loss and abandonment. The result of her search for her biological father surprises everyone.

“The Recruit” tells the story of a man, while trying to find the courage to express his hidden feelings to a co-worker, accidentally witnesses her taking a dramatic path for the father she loves. While her action appears as an isolated and personal sacrifice, it is later revealed to be a part of something much bigger.

The two films were directed by independent filmmakers Petra Lo (“Hustle,” “Manicured”) and John DeYoe, from original stories by Petra Lo and Bing Bailey (“Portrait Of A Zombie").

Sprrkle Media (sprrkle.com) is an independent production and distribution company. Established in 2011, the company has produced a range of media content, including films, celebrity interviews, web series, and live-cast events.
