NSC Students Prepare for French Work Placements

Oswestry, United Kingdom, March 03, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Ten vocational students from North Shropshire College (NSC) will be spending two weeks on work placements in France, three Travel and Tourism students and seven Hospitality and Catering students will be placed in the town of Auch in the Midi-Pyrenees Region of France. This wonderful opportunity is being funded by the Continental Vocational Education and Training KA1 Erasmus+ Project.

Prior to taking part in the work placement programme the students and accompanying staff have been attending French language and cultural lessons to prepare them. Whilst in France the students will work in local businesses, where the training and work carried out will be mapped to the qualification being undertaken at the College. In their free time they will be able to enjoy a social and cultural programme organised by the host partner Eplefpa Auch Beaulieu Lavacant (French School with Vocational Students).

NSC is also sending Agricultural Students and Apprentices to Finland in May, Motor Vehicle Apprentices to France in June and Engineering Students to Spain in June to undertake work placements.

Liz Wilcox Assistant Manager for Enterprise and Development says "This is an exceptional experience for all involved. Our Students and Apprentices have been given the opportunity to work in a foreign country where they will learn new working methods and practices, experience a different culture and learn a new language skill."
