Warrior Thunder Foundation Establishes SFC Larry Garner Scholarship for Veterans

The Warrior Thunder Foundation announces the 1st Annual SFC Larry Garner Scholarship. The scholarship, for Veterans of United States Armed Forces, awards a $1000 annually to the deserving Veteran who, attending college, desires to help their community, Nation, military or Veterans starting in the 2016/2017 school year.

Columbia, SC, March 09, 2016 --( The Warrior Thunder Foundation announces the 1st Annual SFC Larry Garner Scholarshp starting for school year 2016-2017. This scholarship, utilizing a "pay it forward" concept, will award $1000 to a deserving Veteran of the US Armed Forces who pursues an education to help their community, Nation, military or Veterans. The scholarship, administered by the 501(c) (3), will be awarded in June of 2016, at their 3rd Annual Warrior Thunder Golf Tournament, based on the application and essay from the Veteran, from New England, where the nonprofit is based. This is an expansion of the Warrior Thunder Foundation's role in the Veteran community. Its mission, to help injured military, disabled Veterans and their families, has been supporting Veterans for the last five years in New England and across the country. Consisting of all volunteers, the Board of Directors includes Veterans, leaders in the community, and great Americans with decades of experience in philanthropy. Over the last three years, the Foundation has raised nearly $225,000 in financial support, goods and services to Veterans and military personnel in need. "We are excited to offer to help our men and women who have faithfully served this grateful Nation," said Darren Bean, retired Army Sergeant Major and current President of the Warrior Thunder Foundation.
