Zumo Turtle Wins Global Elevate Award

Zyrobotics takes home the Global Elevate Award in the Education category for their e-learning system that facilitates tactile-based learning.

Atlanta, GA, March 11, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Zyrobotics, an educational technology company, won the Global Elevate Award for their Zumo Learning System. Hosted by BarrierBreak, a cohort of assistive technology experts who bring awareness to products and services that promote independent living, the Global Elevate Award celebrates the most innovative companies that create inclusive products.

Zyrobotics won in the Education Category with Zumo Learning System that creates an accessible learning environment for children of all abilities. With a variety of STEM-based apps and a soft plush turtle controller named Zumo, the judges agreed that they had never seen a product like the Zumo Learning System, because it makes active learning accessible for children with special needs.

“All kids do not learn the same, some kids learn best by doing,” said CEO, Dr.MacCalla. Student engagement and motivation are essential to success in STEM subjects like math and science.

According to Dr. MacCalla, “Tactile-based learning provides a different stimulus to the brain. In recent studies done, especially with math, it has been proven that if you add tactile-based interaction, it helps children grasp abstract math concepts in new ways.”

The company has been able to research extensively and design the Zumo Learning System to make STEM learning playful and fun, while incorporating different learning styles.

“Thanks to funding provided by the NSF SBIR program, we are excited to have designed an e-learning system that can engage children of all abilities in STEM learning. We are delighted with the acknowledgement and believe that our mission will be embraced by more and more companies in the near future.”

With various options for accessibility, it’s hard to know what products are out there, but the Global Elevate Award celebrates and acknowledges the best of the best in the assistive technology market. For more information on the Zumo Learning System or Zyrobotics, please contact them.
