Get Your Chainsaw Ticket at NSC Walford

Oswestry, United Kingdom, March 12, 2016 --(PR.com)-- North Shropshire College’s (NSC) Walford Campus will be hosting part-time Chainsaw courses, the courses will be taught by lecturer Selwyn Wayne-Smith. Selwyn has over 20 years’ experience in teaching at Walford, as well as teaching Selwyn has owned his own business which has been main contractor with local councils and employed 12 people. Selwyn also does assessing and training at Colleges and Universities across the country, he also assessed the British Army in Germany and is an international judge for STIHL.

The courses are suitable for occasional chainsaw users, who use battery chainsaws for gardening and firewood, as well as those with more experience who want to do specialist courses such as aerial rescue, harness, pruning operations and dismantling. Courses are ideal for people looking to retrain and want to get out and try something new or who want to develop their skills to industry standard. People attending courses are enthused and really want to learn and get the most out of it.

Selwyn commented, "Walford has had over 20 years’ success, and we have a good reputation in the area. Many companies have sent their employees to Walford and I’ve trained lots of repeat customers. Some start with one ticket and move onto another. I gave Harper Adams University advice on setting up their chainsaw courses. The course gives people a good, competent, professional grounding. When the students go from here, they are ready to continue in their chosen professional field."
