Hilton Head Island, SC, March 15, 2016 --(PR.com
)-- The Young Democrats of South Carolina (YDSC) is proud to announce the relaunch of its chapter for the Sea Islands Region. Based on Hilton Head Island, the chapter will be responsible for empowering young Democrats across Colleton, Hampton, Jasper, and Beaufort Counties.
“The re-establishment of the Sea Islands Region is incredibly important for the future of the Lowcountry,” says Michael Edward Walsh, Region Chair for YDSC | Sea Islands Region. “Our local communities in Colleton, Hampton, Jasper, and Beaufort Counties face a variety of long-term political, economic, social, and environmental challenges (e.g., climate change; income inequality; economic growth) that cannot be resolved without peaceful reform and effective government. Unfortunately, young people across Colleton, Hampton, Jasper, and Beaufort Counties have long been deprived of a political platform to make their voices heard on these issues. The goal of YDSC | Sea Islands Region is to provide these young people with the opportunity to become leaders on these issues in their local communities.”
